Los Angeles International is easy to underestimate. You land, you want a car, and the old memory of brand vans at the curb is out of date. Most on-airport companies now sit in one Rental Car Center (still called CONRAC in a lot of emails). After baggage claim you follow rental-car signs, usually from the lower arrivals curb, and take the airport’s free connection. As of September 2026 that is typically a shuttle. An airport train has been in testing. Follow the signs posted the day you arrive.

Parking is a different product. If you already have a car in Los Angeles and you are flying out, you are choosing among Central Terminal Area structures, official Economy or Budget lots, and off-site shuttle lots. Trip length decides more than brand loyalty. A one-night turnaround often belongs on-airport. A week in Europe usually belongs at a reserved off-site lot, as long as the shuttle still runs when you land.

Groups should treat vans as scarce. Minivans go early around school holidays. Twelve- and fifteen-passenger vans are thinner still, and some brands want a driver 25 or older. If the large van is gone, two minivans will get a family reunion to Pasadena with less garage drama than a tall van in a downtown structure.
